The Stroudsburg Shade got a superb performance from pitcher Shigenobu Yamasaki. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Palm Beach. The Bums won the game, 9-6. In spite of the loss, Yamasaki was named the player of the game. He came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters . Alberto Rodríguez, credited with the win, is now 3-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 innings. Palm Beach, at 17-56, sits in last place in the August Herrman League Phillie Phanatic Division.
Dave Mitchell had a big at-bat in the bottom of the third inning for the Bums. With his team down, 3-2, the right fielder hit a 2-run triple, to put Palm Beach ahead.
"Nice to get this one," said Mitchell. "Wins have been hard to come by."
