The Beach City Seals stopped the Sioux City Knights, 6-4, at Silvery Lane Field. The Seals got a big game from Reid Taylor, who was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Christian Hawk earned the save for Beach City, his 3rd of the year. The 5th-place Seals have won 5 in a row.
Beach City took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a big hit from Raúl Cortéz. On a 0-1 curveball from David Lidstone, Cortéz hit a 2-run single. That made it 6-4, Seals. For the day, Cortéz was 2 for 3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Beach City manager Nobuharu Chikafuji.
