Capitals Rally For Late Win Over Road Warriors

The Springfield Capitals faced a tough opponent in Westside pitcher Bernardo Guerra, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Prairie Field by a final score of 6-4. Guerra went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Takashi Toru picked up the save for Springfield, his 25th of the year. The Capitals own a robust 46-24 mark.
In the bottom of the 8th, Springfield took the lead on a bases-clearing double by Ambara Sudeshna. At the time, the Capitals were trailing 4-3, but Sudeshna's hit with two outs against Westside pitcher Joe Mason put them in front, 6-4.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Springfield manager Anthony Mays.
