Bush Wackers Come Back Late, Nip Sting

The Bush Wackers took Houston pitcher Maurice Hesmondhalgh's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Baylor Ballpark. The final score was 3-2, Brisbane. Hesmondhalgh went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 10. Brisbane reliever Manuel Martínez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Fernando Martínez. Brisbane now owns a record of 40-29.
In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 2-2, designated hitter Ryuichi Ine won it for Brisbane. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Ine hit a first pitch cutter from Fernando Martínez for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 3-2 win.
"Glad to get this win," said Ine. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
