Losing Streak Continues for Hipsters with 8-2 Loss
|
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws and starting pitcher Rubén Sánchez stifled the Austin offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Hipster Grounds. Sánchez got the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. Sánchez allowed 1 earned run. Virgil Janse closed the door for West Virginia, picking up his 1st save of the year.
One significant plate appearance for West Virginia came with one out in the top of the first inning. Dancin' Outlaws third baseman Yasuhiro Nishimura drew a walk, driving in 1 run, which helped West Virginia go on to win.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws manager Andy Franklin.
The Dancin' Outlaws, at 43-28, have now won 4 straight.
