The umbrellas came out during the Columbus-Georgia contest at Central Park Downtown Stadium.

The Columbus Codebreakers relied on the hitting of first baseman Tokutomi Kogawa to stop the Georgia Grays, 7-5. For the game, Kogawa went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. Pat Ashe got the save, his 7th in 9 chances.

Had it not been for Marnix Rietkerk, the results might have been different. In the top of the ninth inning, when the Codebreakers were trailing 5-4, Rietkerk hit a 2-run single for Columbus, giving his team the lead.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Rietkerk.

Columbus now sits at 66-59, while Georgia falls to 68-58.
