Pitchford Brilliant as Eagles Top Bums

Douggie Pitchford was superb against Palm Beach. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the AHL in innings pitched with 161.1, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 7-2 Eagles victory. Jeremiah Horne closed it out for his 2nd save. At 76-68, the Eagles find themselves in 4th place in the August Herrman League Phillie Phanatic Division.
Pitchford was effective for Whitewater, seldom allowing the Bums to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 87 pitches over 7.1 innings. He limited Palm Beach to just no runs on 3 hits.
"Douggie was pounding the zone," said Whitewater manager Michel Hérault.
