Kansas City Beats Brisbane, 6-4
|
The Blue Spaders had to overcome a fine performance from Brisbane pitcher Enrique Montero to grab a 6-4 win at The Whig Stadium. Montero allowed no earned runs over 5 innings. Seinosuke Sakamoto picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-8. The Blue Spaders now have a record of 20-47 with the win over Brisbane.
Despite the loss, the Blue Spaders got an encouraging performance from 19-year-old Josh Bowmer. In the top of the fifth, he hit a 2-run single to make the score 6-3, Brisbane. "It's not easy for a young guy to go out there and perform," Blue Spaders manager Jack O'Callahan said. "But he did it like one of the vets."
