The Sting had to overcome a good performance from Beach City pitcher Dae-il Chon to claim a 5-3 win at Silvery Lane Field. Chon went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. With the win, the Sting improved to 29-35.

In the top of the 8th, shortstop Nobuharu Morita gave Houston the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Sting had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Beach City pitcher Hayden Nickem changed that -- and Houston went on to win.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Morita told the Houston Chronicle.
