Sioux City Knights starter Barry Sherman turned in a top-notch performance against the Austin Hipsters at Hipster Grounds. The result was a win for the Knights, 6-2. Sherman, the winner, moves to 6-5. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Toshikazu Yokoyama closed the door for Sioux City, picking up his 4th save of the year.
Goris van Ekeren in the top of the eighth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Knights leading 2-1, the Sioux City catcher hit a run-scoring double.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Sherman.
Their 32-31 record puts the Knights third in the August Herrman League Phillie Phanatic Division.
