Hornets Turn Back West Virginia, 3-1
|
In a tight game between the Bethesda Hornets and the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws, pitcher Tetsuzan Ono was terrific on the mound. The Bethesda right-hander was named the player of the game in Bethesda's 3-1 win. Bethesda reliever Francisco López was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Virgil Janse. Bethesda now has a 3-game win streak.
Nobuhito Kouno drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Bethesda. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth, Kouno, who is tied for 2nd in the AHL in triples with 3, had a clutch at-bat. Facing West Virginia hurler Virgil Janse, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Hornets a 2-1 lead.
