Capitals Clip Knights in Tight Contest

The Capitals had to overcome a good performance from Sioux City pitcher Barry Sherman to claim a 3-2 win at Knights Field. Sherman went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Takashi Toru picked up the save, his 20th. The Knights, at 29-29, have lost 4 straight games.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Charlie Lammas's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With two out, the Springfield pinch hitter drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Sioux City manager Leland Ray, "let me know."
