Princes Defeat Shade, 12-5
|
Stroudsburg third baseman David Brine pounded Bel Air Princes pitchers at Tim Raines Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Shade from falling, 12-5. Brine went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Guo Sang, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 9-3. William Pendle locked down his 3rd save.
Mike Jahn was 1-3 with 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Bel Air. In the top of the third, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Jahn delivered for the Princes. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Bel Air on top, 2-1.
"I felt good up there," said Jahn. "I saw the ball well."
The Princes improved to a lofty 45-15.
