Springfield got a terrific game from third baseman Will Zimmerman. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Palm Beach, 6-5. Zimmerman was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. Palm Beach reliever José Salas was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Razan Suzuki. Munemori Abe finished to wrap up his 6th save.
Dave Mitchell contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that propelled Palm Beach to the win.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Mitchell, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
Palm Beach now sits at 14-42, while Springfield falls to 38-18.
