The Springfield Capitals went home winners at Prairie Field, thanks in large part to starter Carlos Moreno. Moreno silenced the Palm Beach Bums, enabling Springfield to grab the 9-1 win. Getting the save was Máximo Martínez, his 1st. With the win, the Capitals have a record of 38-17.

Also making an impact was center fielder Phil Ramsay, who drilled a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Capitals. For the game, Ramsay was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
