|
Whitewater rode a fine outing from starter Manny Salazar to victory over the Brisbane Bush Wackers at Baylor Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. The winner was Whitewater reliever Julián Castillo, now 6-0. The loser was Gabriel Bernard. Bill Lacy converted his 5th save in 5 tries.
Whitewater took control in the top of the seventh. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jim Unknown hit a 3-run home run to make it 5-2, Eagles.
In comments to the Whitewater Citizen, Unknown insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
The 4th-place Eagles now have a win-loss record of 25-30.
