Road Warriors Prevail, 5-3, Over Brisbane
|
The Westside Road Warriors topped the Brisbane Bush Wackers by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to pinch hitter Gilbert Luyks. Luyks was 1-1, while adding 2 RBI for the Road Warriors on the day. Allen Blair recorded the save for Westside, his 18th of the season. The Road Warriors improved to a lofty 41-11.
Luyks had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch cutter from Pascal Leroy, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Road Warriors a 5-3 lead. It was the 10th hit of the year for Luyks.
"We did a lot of things right," said Luyks.
