Princes Win Again, Extend Streak to 7
|
The Bel Air Princes easily defeated the Palm Beach Bums, 12-4, at Philip Banks Field, with left fielder Ángel Díaz a main contributor to the win. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Bel Air. Yasuyuki Tezuka was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts. Palm Beach is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 8 in a row.
Díaz came through with some timely hitting for Bel Air. With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the third and one down, Díaz hit a 2-1 slider for a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season made it 3-1, Bel Air.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Bel Air manager Raúl Luna.
