The Brisbane Bush Wackers got a stellar effort from pitcher Gabriel Bernard, helping Brisbane score a 4-2 win over the visiting West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws. Pascal Leroy picked up the save for Brisbane, his 9th of the year. The first-place Bush Wackers have a one-game lead in their division.
There were several reasons the Bush Wackers beat the Dancin' Outlaws, but one factor was Josh Bowmer. In the bottom of the third, the Brisbane designated hitter came to bat and hit a 2-run double. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Bowmer said.
