Berserkers Lose to Hornets, 4-3
|
The Frozen Tundra was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Eureka Hornets and the Minnesota Berserkers.
Minnesota got a terrific game from second baseman Joaquín Rodríguez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Eureka, 4-3. Rodríguez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The save was credited to Andrés Nevárez, his 13th.
In the top of the sixth, César Soto muscled up and hit a 2-run home run. It put Eureka ahead, 3-1. For the game, Soto went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I was a little disappointed," said Minnesota manager Jerry Miller. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Hornets now have a record of 23-22 with the win over Minnesota.
