Capitals Suffer 5-1 Setback
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Kansas City Blue Spaders and Springfield Capitals came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Kansas City Blue Spaders grabbed a 5-1 win over the Springfield Capitals at The Whig Stadium. Kansas City right fielder Francisco Sánchez was 2 for 4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once to earn player of the game honors. Kansas City reliever Callum Butler got the win, raising his record to 1-2. David Myers was tagged with the loss.
Kansas City took a 2-1 lead on Sánchez's 32nd hit of the season. The 2-run single, which he hit off David Myers in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Kansas City to the win.
"I felt good up there," said Sánchez. "I saw the ball well."
At 15-33, Kansas City is in last place in the August Herrman League Mr. Met Division.
