Despite the rain, the fans at Penlee Park enjoyed a good ballgame.

West Virginia used a superb performance from starting pitcher Jason Hammond to down the Stroudsburg Shade, 4-1. Hammond, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. Tomás Sameiro closed the door for West Virginia, picking up his 9th save of the year.

Iemitsu Harada was vital part of the West Virginia win. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third with one out, Harada hit a 2-run single. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Dancin' Outlaws.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said West Virginia skipper Andy Franklin.

The Dancin' Outlaws are now 26-19, while the Shade fall to 18-28.
