Bush Wackers Win at Springfield, 3-1
|
Brisbane got a first-rate effort from pitcher Dan Northeast, who frustrated Springfield hitters en route to a 3-1 Bush Wackers triumph at Prairie Field. Pascal Leroy closed the door for Brisbane, picking up his 8th save of the year. Brisbane leads the August Herrman League Phillie Phanatic Division by 2½ games.
Ryuichi Ine had a nice at-bat for the Bush Wackers with two out in the top of the third. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the left fielder hit a run-scoring single, which would prove important in the Brisbane win.
"Dan did a tremendous job," said Brisbane manager Pete Barrett.
