Bums Best Blue Spaders in Pitching Duel
|
The rain could not keep the The Whig Stadium crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
The Kansas City Blue Spaders wasted an inspired, 5.2-inning effort from starter Seinosuke Sakamoto, falling 2-1 to the Palm Beach Bums at The Whig Stadium. Munemori Abe earned the save, his 2nd, for the Bums.
Also making an impact was first baseman Takane Nomura, who drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning for the Bums. For the game, Nomura went 1-3 with a walk.
"It's a long season," said Nomura. "We'll keep working to improve."
The win puts the Bums at 10-30, while the Blue Spaders drop to 12-28.
