Declan Ringer helped his team muscle past the Bethesda Hornets, 6-4. In the game, the Houston left fielder went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Hideyoshi Kawamura picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Javier Sánchez took the loss. Earning his 7th save for Houston was Jason Graves.
One significant plate appearance for Houston came with two out in the bottom of the fourth inning. Sting shortstop Randall Jervis hit a 2-run double, which helped Houston go on to win.
"We'll build on this win," said Jervis.
The Sting are now 16-25, while the Hornets fall to 18-23.
