Domingo Moreno was superb against Bethesda. The right-hander had a splitter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 7-2 Sting victory. Moreno, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 2 walks. With the win over Bethesda, the Sting improved to 15-25.

In the bottom of the second, Claudio Reyes muscled up and hit a 2-run home run. It put Houston ahead, 2-0. For the game, Reyes went 1-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.

"It was our day today," Reyes told the Houston Chronicle. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
