Blazers Lose to Hops, 6-1
|
San Diego starter Mal Tosewell put a stranglehold on the Bloomington offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Hops to a 6-1 win. The Blazers, now 17-27, have lost 5 straight.
San Diego took control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Tokuhei Taniguchi hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Hops.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said San Diego Hops manager Randy England. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
