|
In a tight game between the Austin Hipsters and the Whitewater Eagles, pitcher Austin Muirhead was terrific on the mound. The Austin right-hander was named the player of the game in Austin's 2-0 win. Austin reliever Jorge Hernández was the winner. His record is now 3-3. Ignacio Ramos took the loss. Picking up the save was Koshiro Ohayashi, his 4th.
Austin grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the seventh when Ogai Sakei hit a run-scoring single. For the day, Sakei went 1-1.
"The old adage is true," said Muirhead. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
Austin, now 19-18, holds 4th place in the August Herrman League Mr. Met Division.
