Brisbane Bush Wackers starter Dan Northeast turned in an exceptional performance against the Palm Beach Bums at Envoys Ballpark, resulting in a Brisbane win, 5-2. In 6.1 innings, Northeast surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Pascal Leroy got the save, the 6th for him this season.
The Bush Wackers had to work out of trouble with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Brisbane. But Palm Beach, with a runner on 1st, had mounted a threat. Dave Mitchell dug in at the plate. But on a 1-2 cutter, Mitchell struck out.
