Tight Tilt Goes to Bush Wackers, 4-3
|
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Dylan Brisley, the Bethesda Hornets suffered a 4-3 loss to the Brisbane Bush Wackers. Brisley went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Pascal Leroy finished to wrap up his 5th save. Brisbane leads the August Herrman League Phillie Phanatic Division by 3 games.
Trailing 3-2, Brisbane's fortunes turned in the bottom of the fifth inning when the 21-year old first baseman Afellan Kalamka lifted a 2-0 fastball into the stands for a 2-run home run. The round-tripper put the Bush Wackers up, 4-3.
Bethesda manager Francisco Solano said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
