|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers faced a tough opponent in Bethesda pitcher John Curnew, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Baylor Ballpark by a final score of 5-3. Curnew went 6.1 innings and allowed 5 earned runs. The winner was Andrew Kesterton in relief. His record improves to 4-0. John Curnew took the loss. Pascal Leroy closed the game out for Brisbane, earning his 4th save.
Josh Bowmer aided the Brisbane cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 4 with a double.
"I really like what we did out there today," Bowmer said after the game.
Brisbane is now 21-13, 2 games up in the August Herrman League Phillie Phanatic Division.
