The Houston Sting clobbered the Kansas City Blue Spaders, 12-2, at The Whig Stadium today. Houston right fielder Dave Lister was named player of the game for his productive day. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Reliever Roberto Cruz picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Seinosuke Sakamoto took the loss. The losses continue to mount for Kansas City, which has now dropped 8 in a row.

Juan Gómez was one of the major contributors to the win for Houston. The light-hitting third baseman stroked a single to right in the top of the first inning. For the day, he went 1-4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
