Road Warriors Clip Capitals in Tight Contest

With shortstop Hayden Viccars leading the charge, the Westside Road Warriors defeated the Springfield Capitals, 4-2, at Road Warriors Field. Viccars, who is tied for 2nd in the AHL in triples with 3, went 4 for 4 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times. Reliever Nicholas Winslow picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. José Ayala took the loss. The Road Warriors, now 28-4, have stormed out of the gates.
Viccars had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the sixth when the 21-year old shortstop hit a single. The single gave Westside the lead, 2-1. It was his 29th hit of the season.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Westside skipper Tim Duncan. "I can't complain."
