The Beach City Seals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Eisaku Yoshioka, who muffled the Bethesda offense en route to a tight 3-1 Seals win at Silvery Lane Field. Beach City reliever Hayden Nickem got the win, raising his record to 5-0. Marcel Morvan was tagged with the loss. Katsunan Suzuki was credited with the save for Beach City, his 8th of the season.
Beach City took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Walt Keough stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Seals.
Keough said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Beach City, now 12-18, is off to a slow start.
