Capitals Keep Streak Alive With 4-3 Win
Springfield withstood an impressive performance by Austin second baseman Kevin Bird to defeat the Hipsters, 4-3, at Hipster Grounds. Bird went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. The Capitals, now 22-4, have hit the ground running this season.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the sixth inning when the Capitals sent teenager Takehide Sasaki to the plate against Hipsters hurler Shunsen Matsumoto. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 1-0 curveball to score 2.

"This team is flying high right now," said Sasaki after the game.
