The Beach City Seals met little resistance from the Houston Sting, beating them 11-1 at Woodland Park. Eric Weatherdon led the way. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for Beach City. Eisaku Yoshioka was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. The Sting, now 8-17, continue their sluggish start.

Beach City grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Walt Keough delivered a 3-run home run, to make it 4-1 in favor of the Seals.

Houston manager Robby Tate called the blowout loss "a real stinker."
