The Capitals had to overcome a good performance from Sioux City pitcher Barry Sherman to claim a 6-4 win at Prairie Field. Sherman went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Springfield reliever Sachi Kakuta, now 2-0. The loser was Takuya Masuda. Takashi Toru picked up the save, his 6th.

In the bottom of the 7th, pinch hitter Henry Huff gave Springfield the lead when he hit a bases-clearing triple. The Capitals had been trailing 4-2, but the two-out triple off Sioux City pitcher Takuya Masuda changed that -- and Springfield went on to win.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Huff told the Springfield Today.

Springfield, now 15-4, is playing great baseball to start the year.
