Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Earthquakes
|
The Earthquakes had to overcome a fine effort from Jersey pitcher Daryl Wyles to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Golden Gate Park. Wyles went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The second-place Earthquakes raised their record to 26-18.
Coming to the plate with two out in the bottom of the tenth inning, San Francisco right fielder Noam Foucher had a chance to be the hero. Facing Jersey pitcher Kenko Samurakami with the bases loaded, Foucher, who is rated as the 8th best prospect by BNN, drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Jersey manager Allen Clifton.
