Loss to Knights Extends Palm Beach Losing Streak
|
It was a fun time at Knights Field, where the Palm Beach Bums and Sioux City Knights tangled.
The Sioux City Knights relied on the hitting of first baseman Sakutaro Okada to stop the Palm Beach Bums, 9-2. For the game, Okada was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. Sioux City reliever Clay Tilly picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. William Holtby took the loss.
A defensive miscue in the bottom of the third cost the Bums. With Sioux City trailing 2-1, Goris van Ekeren reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. Sioux City ended up winning the ballgame.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Francis Baker. "But it's got to translate into wins."
Palm Beach, at 2-12, is off to a dreadful start in 2028.
