Jacks Stumble, Lose to Marauders
|
The Maple Marauders knocked off the Jacksonville Jacks, 11-4, at Legends Park. Federico Cavatta, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Maple won. The shortstop went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Dylan Butlin was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Maulik Shaw was credited with the save for Maple, his 1st of the season.
Iván Zavala went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI for Maple. In the bottom of the second, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Zavala delivered for the Marauders. His run-scoring ground out put Maple on top, 1-0.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Zavala told the Maple Gazette.
Maple is now 23-19, Jacksonville 20-23.
