Blue Spaders Suffer 6-4 Loss to Dancin' Outlaws
|
Kansas City got a terrific performance from pitcher Silvino Fagundo, but it wasn't enough to beat the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws. West Virginia won the The Whig Stadium contest, 6-4. Fagundo was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. Kenzaburo Kiyomizu, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-1. With the loss, Kansas City falls to 5-10.
Avery McNeil had a nice at-bat for the Dancin' Outlaws with two out in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, the catcher reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, which would prove important in the West Virginia win.
"Enjoyed this one," McNeil told the West Virginia Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
