Dancin' Outlaws Topple Blue Spaders as Pi Shines
|
West Virginia and Kansas City got after it at The Whig Stadium.
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws powered past the Kansas City Blue Spaders, 9-7, at The Whig Stadium. Seung-jun Pi went 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3, to lead the charge. West Virginia reliever Kisho Samurakami was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Edgardo Flores took the loss.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Kansas City hurler José Canseco, José Guzmán drew a walk. The Dancin' Outlaws went on to win.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Guzmán told the West Virginia Today. "You win just by scoring more runs."
The Blue Spaders fall to 5-8 and continue their lackluster start in 2028.
