Sioux City Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
In a low-scoring game between the Bethesda Hornets and the Sioux City Knights, pitcher John Curnew was masterful on the mound. The Bethesda right-hander was named the player of the game in Bethesda's 3-0 win. With the loss, Sioux City falls to 6-5.
Brian Corbett brought the hometown crowd to its feet with two out in the bottom of the third. That's when the 22-year old catcher belted a 3-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Hornets took the lead, 3-0.
"I had pretty much everything working," said Curnew.
