The Kansas City Blue Spaders grabbed a 6-4 win over the Austin Hipsters at The Whig Stadium. Kansas City designated hitter Kyu-jin Han was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once to earn player of the game honors. Kansas City starter Haden Nunn was credited with the win after throwing 85 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Li-zhu Kuang closed the door for Kansas City, picking up his 4th save of the year.
Kansas City grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the sixth, when Han, who is tied for 10th in the AHL in hits with 13, hit a 2-run single. His 13th hit of the season put the Blue Spaders out in front, 6-4.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Han told the Kansas City Herald. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
The loss drops Austin to 7-5.
