The Columbus Codebreakers had to overcome a big game from Seattle shortstop Martin Waller to leave Sick's Stadium with a 6-5 victory. Waller was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Marcos León got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. Manny Palma was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
The Codebreakers got a lift from second baseman Ray Clark, who in the top of the 12th hit a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season put the Codebreakers on top, 6-5.
"This game tested our mettle," said Clark.
With the loss, Seattle is 1-4.
