Woodland Park was the site for August Herrman League action featuring the Houston Sting and Springfield Capitals.

The Springfield Capitals met little resistance from the Houston Sting, beating them 11-2 at Woodland Park. Ambara Sudeshna led the way. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Springfield. Yakamochi Sakamoto, the winner, improved to 1-2. He held the Sting to 2 runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4.

Kumanosuke Ota chipped in for Springfield, stroking a crucial 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, the right fielder went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 4 RBI.

"We took it on the chin today," said losing manager Robby Tate.

With their winning streak at 4, the Capitals have raced to a strong start this season.
