Nomura Goes Wild, But Hornets Win
|
The Palm Beach Bums got a superb performance from first baseman Takane Nomura. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bethesda. The Hornets won the game, 11-5. In spite of the loss, Nomura was named the player of the game. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Yohachi Fujita earned the save for Bethesda, his 1st of the year. The loss drops Palm Beach to 2-7.
Bethesda right fielder Nobuhito Kouno helped the Hornets to the win. In the top of the fourth inning, the 20-year old center fielder stroked a run-scoring single. For the game, Kouno was 2 for 5 with a double. He scored 2 times.
"I like winning," Kouno told the Bethesda Chronicle. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
