Capitals center fielder Phil Ramsay put his stamp on his team's 6-2 win over the Kansas City Blue Spaders. Ramsay was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs for Springfield in the contest. Springfield reliever Sachi Kakuta picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Stu Glover absorbed the loss. Springfield, now 5-3, has played well in the early going.
It could have been a different outcome for Springfield, had it not been for Júlio Berrios, the 19-year old center fielder . Berrios contributed a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the sixth inning to put Springfield up, 2-1.
"I thought we played a nice game," Ramsay told the Springfield Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
