Guerra 'Lights Out' in Westside Win
|
The Westside Road Warriors topped the Whitewater Eagles, 6-3, in August Herrman League action at Road Warriors Field. The player of the game was Westside pitcher and Guanare, Venezuela native Bernardo Guerra. Allen Blair earned the save for Westside, his 4th of the year. At 4-1, the Road Warriors have played well so far.
The Road Warriors liked what they saw from Guerra. The 22-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Eagles to 1 earned run on 2 hits over 6.2 innings, and striking out 12.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Guerra.
