Hipsters Prevail, 7-5, Over Stroudsburg
|
Stroudsburg catcher Ryuichi Kobayashi had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to Austin at Hipster Grounds. Kobayashi was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jae-bok Han got credit for the save for Austin. It was his 2nd of the year. The Hipsters, now 3-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the third inning when the Hipsters sent teenager Benedikt Stites to the plate against Shade hurler Norogumi Yokoyama. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 0-2 fastball to score 2.
Stites described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
